The enlargement of the European Union in 2007 to 27 countries created the largest single trading marketplace in the world with a large and highly developed workforce to rival the breadth of skills and knowledge available in the United States.
The Accession countries of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia; Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic; Cyprus and Malta and Slovenia brought into the EU around 75 million more citizens who can truthfully claim to be among the best educated in Europe. In these countries language skills are taken for granted, where most graduates speak at least two foreign languages.
Apart from Romania and Bulgaria, citizens of the EU have no restrictions regarding their ability to work as employees within the UK.
There are different restrictions applying to ?A10? and ?A2? citizens among the various longer standing EU member countries in relation to accessing their labour markets.
